Classy Spunk

I always try and post my outfits on my Instagram so everyone that follows me can see my outfit of the day. One of my sweet followers said that I looked "classy with a side of spunk!" hence the name of this post. I bought this button down recently at Old Navy because of how simple and classy it was. I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion which is what I love about it. I can easily pair it with a skirt for work or church and then pair it with a pair of jeans to run errands in. This is my version of "classy spunk". This statement matched perfectly with this outfit as well my little red flats. I took two sets of pictures, one with my over-size cardigan and one without. I like both to be honest with you. What do you think?

Emerald Green

This weather here in Texas is bipolar I swear!? One day it's hot, one day its freezing cold and in the 20's! Although this isn't the ideal cold weather attire, it still works for this freezing Texas day. I have had these emerald green jeans for about two years and I wear them constantly. I think this color is absolutely gorgeous and they go with anything! I own about 10 pairs of colored skinnies and these are definitely my favorite by far. I paired this outfit with my new emerald statement necklace for an extra pop of color. This type of outfit is definitely one of my go to outfits for work. Well I hope everyone has an awesome Wednesday! :)

A Polished Look

I love love love how cute this outfit turned out to be. I never am one to wear belts or tuck in my button down but I did for this outfit. I love how polished and sophisticated  this outfit turned out to be because I did those two things. I also adore the bright yellow scarf I added to this outfit so it could bring out the small stripes of yellow in this bright red plaid shirt. What do you think?

Shades of Gray

Mondays at work are usually fairly slow so that means I can dress as comfortable and casual as possible. I got this over-sized sweater for Christmas and I've been waiting for the perfect cold day to wear it. Today was that day :) I paired this sweater with my black jeggings, boots, and a scarf. You can't really tell in this picture but my boots are a darker gray color. I love the contrast of all the different shades of gray in this outfit.

Layering

Winter weather calls for layering which is exactly what I did on this cold day. I worn about 20 button downs and I am constantly layering them over sweaters, blazers, or jackets. I love plaid button downs like this one I have one because it spices up this solid green sweater and navy blazer. I love when an outfit has depth. What I mean by that is, an outfit does not just consist of a top, some bottoms, and a pair of flats but has layers and depth to it. Whether its a statement necklace, earrings, a blazer over a top, or just boot socks, I like a little something extra which is why I love the layer most everything I wear.

Feeling Blue

Cobalt blue has always been one of my favorite colors to wear. It's bright and vibrant and looks great with my red hair.. Or so I'm told. ;) Anywho.. I bought these skinnies at Old Navy last year and have wore them so many times. It was extremely cold when I wore this last week so this outfit was perfect for the cold winter weather.  Although there is a ton of blue in this outfit, I don't think it's overbearing. I think the scarf and the button down with the white cable knit sweater over it balance out all the blue quite nicely.

Winter White

I've never been a fan of white in winter until I saw this gorgeous sweater. This cable knit Old Navy sweater goes with just about everything in my closet including this button down that I got for Christmas. I live in button downs and sweaters during the winter just like many of you probably do. The thickness of this cable knit is perfect for battling those cold Winter days or nights. You will definitely be seeing me this a lot this Winter and maybe even Spring! Also, if you don't have this necklace already go get you one! It's to die for! The colors are bright and this necklace literally goes with anything like this outfit! I have a link below so get you one! You won't regret it! ;)
P.s. - Sorry for my hot mess hair! There's just some days that picking out an outfit is hard let alone doing something cute with your hair & this was that kinda day. So this is the result.. A hot mess. :) Enjoy!

The Perfect Striped Dress

Happy Hump Day everyone! I have been in the pursuit of the perfect striped dress for the longest time and I finally found it! Old Navy got me again with this super comfortable striped dress that I've been lusting over for months. I can't get over how comfortable this dress really is. I love adding a pop of color to any outfit because it brightens up and completely changes the dynamics of the entire outfit. I have so many ideas for styling this dress but this is how I styled it today.

Casual Chic

I saw this picture on US weekly and thought that Tori Spelling's outfit was just too cute and casual so I decided to recreate it. I love celebrity inspirations like these because they are so effortless yet stylish and so easy to recreate from pieces from your own closet. I bought this purple plaid number from JcPenney's before Christmas on sale and thought it would be perfect for recreating this effortless, chic look of Tori Spelling's.

Spring Colorblock

We finally had some warmer weather here in Texas so I decided to take advantage of it and wear my spring colorblock sweater from Gap. I go this sweater for Christmas although I picked it out. :) The manikin at the gap outlet was dressed in a very similar outfit to the one I'm wearing here. I loved it so much that I couldn't wait to recreate it with pieces I already had in my closet. Although the mint jeans and the mint stripe in the sweater aren't the identical shade, I think it still blends very well together. This outfit made me so happy that Spring is around the corner!

Happy (Belated) New Year!

Oh hey there! It's a new year! I can't believe 2013 has already come and gone. 2013 was fun but I'm so excited to see what God has in store for me this year! I want to focus more on this blog and throw all my time and energy into it because I honestly love it. I am also working on a HUGE project but more on that later.. ;) Any who.. I finally took a few pictures of an outfit that I've worn twice since Christmas. Yes, I am very much an outfit repeater especially if I love an outfit. Don't hate. This is my casual work attire go-to outfit. A blazer over a silk blouse always has a very classy, polished look to it and this outfit is no different.
