Cousin's Birthday Party

Most of my family is in town for Christmas so we celebrated one of my little cousin's birthday while everyone was here and this is what I wore. I've been wanting a navy blazer for as long as I can remember and I finally got this gorgeous Gap one for Christmas! This navy blazer paired perfectly with this precious scarf that I also got for Christmas and this old American Eagle sweater I've had for years. I love everything about this outfit along with everything else I got for Christmas that I'll be sharing with you!

This is what I had to put up when I got home on Christmas Day!

The Striped Sweater

This striped sweater was on my Christmas wishlist and I'm so glad I got it! I don't own very many striped pieces so I was happy to add this baby to my closet! I wore this out to dinner with my parents. It was a chilly Texas night so I layered up with a simple white button down that I also got for Christmas. These black buckled booties I have on were a huge surprise and I love them so! And of course no outfit is complete without a little bling!
P.s. - If you're wondering why my smile is a little odd, well its because I got braces and I haven't quite gotten the hang of them or smiling for that matter. Sorry for the awkward smile. lol

Post Christmas shopping & the Casino

First of all.. I hope you all had a great and a very Merry Christmas. Sorry I didn't do a post yesterday but Christmas mornings with my family are absolute MADNESS. Second of all.. Sorry there's so many pictures. I loved this outfit so much that I thought it called for multiple pictures to capture how adorable it truly is! Like I've said before in previous posts, green and blue are my favorite colors to wear because they go so well with my hair color and pale skin. I got this outfit for Christmas except for the flats which I recently purchased last month. I love how light weight this plaid shirt is because its easy to breathe in and can we talk about these jeans! I have never like holes or cuts in my jeans but after I got this pair for Old Navy I fell in love. They are so comfortable and casual that I actually went to Old Navy and got another pair. I tend to do that when I find a pair of jeans that I really like because it's really hard to find a pair that fit me so well. I wore this the day after Christmas to do some shopping/returns and to the casino with my mom. I can't wait to wear these jeans more!

Girls Night

One of my best girl friends came into town for Christmas last weekend so we had to have a girls night out and this is what I wore. I snapped this picture on my way out the door so that's why there is only one. I chose the lace black and white tank and leather leggings for comfort and mobility because I knew she would want to go dancing so we went to a local bar and danced the night away.

Mad for Plaid

I bought this pretty plaid button down from Hope's last week because it seemed so comfortable and casual enough to go with just about everything. I feel like I live in these jeggings but if you owned a pair you would understand why. When I saw how the model styled this gorgeous plaid button down, I knew I had to grab my black go-to jeggings and recreate the outfit. I'm excited to see what else I can style this warm flannel with. If you haven't hit the stores lately, flannel plaid button downs are a must have for this Fall and Winter.

Black & Gold

Happy Monday Everyone! I am one of the few girls that doesn't have a closet full of J. Crew pieces because I can't justify spending that type of money on a shirt even if I fall in love with it. Don't get me wrong, I love everything J. Crew just as much as the next girl but I'm all about bargains even though I'm starting to learn that sometimes the quality isn't the greatest. I recently went into a J. Crew factory outlet near my house and ended up with this precious tee and a gorgeous blue sweater that will make its appearance soon. I throw on this blazer of this simple tee in order to give it a little more polished and classy look. The simple black and gold combo worked great together.

Florals in December

I love everything about this outfit below. The neutral sweater and the floral button down remind me of this adorable outfit from Fashion Flirtation. I love how comfortable yet stylish this outfit turned out to be. Florals are normally a spring and summer trend but the neutral sweater helped transition this blouse into an adorable winter outfit. I wore this to work but I would definitely wear it out to lunch with my girlfriends or to run errands around town.

Making a Statement

Talk about making a statement.. This necklace definitely does just that! When I got this bad boy in the mail last week from Brina Box, I put it on immediately with this bland outfit and it looked fabulous. This necklace is definitely worth purchasing if you don't have it already. I have worn it four times since last Wednesday that's how much I love it. It literally goes with everything and it'll make any outfit look fantastic. I promise! :)

Penguin Weather

I have lived in Texas all my life and I don't think I've ever experienced crazy weather quite like the past few days. If you're from up North I'm sure you are used to the cold weather and everything that goes along with it but I'm definitely not! This is total penguin weather hence the title of this blog. ;) This arctic blast that hit Texas came in with a heavy punch. The roads were awful and it took a serious toll on one of the last few crucial shopping weekends before Christmas. However, no arctic blast was going to ruin my weekend of Christmas shopping and I refused to get cabin fever from staying cooped up in the house. I wore this outfit on one of our many adventures to grab lunch and hit the empty local mall. I picked up this adorable penguin sweater last weekend when I went to the American Eagle outlet. I love the sequins and the slight hint of neon on the penguin. I love throwing in neon accents to a bland outfit because it instantly brightens up the whole outfit.

If you follow me on Instagram then I'm sure you've already seen this picture. This is my cousin Kenzie and I having fun on the ice. I'm so glad I got to spend this whole weekend with her catching up about boys, life, and fashion. :)
