Maryland: Take me back

It has been quite a long time since I have done a post to this blog due to the fact that it was summer and I've been super busy working. I am super excited to announcing that I will launching Britt Nicole's Boutique online very soon! If you know me you know I am a lover of all things fashion and have been obsessed with it since I was young. I've always known I wanted to do something in the line of fashion but I never knew what exactly until now! I am currently still working at my job as a Horticultural Broker and will be starting this boutique on the side for now. Hopefully one day I'll be able to stay home full time and work on my boutique solely. Baby steps! Anywho.. I've been traveling lately for my job and the pictures below are from my trip to Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. My outfits weren't the greatest because it was so hot and we did a lot of touring. I wanted to wear something comfortable and casual. These were my choices. I will be updating this blog more often now.. Hopefully. ;) Anywho.. Have a great weekend for those of you who actually read this!

Outfit Slacking

So I will  admit it.. I am very much a slacker when it comes to posting outfits on this blog or even on my Instagram. Sometimes I just don't think my outfits are picture worthy so I end up not taking any and then I don't post for a month. I'm awful, I know! Anywho.. On a happier note, I got a PUPPY!!! :) His name is Abbott & he's absolutely adorable. It's hard not to fall in love with that boy. I place all the blame for my lack of sleep and will power to take pictures or even look half way decent lately on him. lol However, now that everything is back on track and I'm actually sleeping through the night hopefully I'll start posting more.. Fingers crossed!!! :) Today's outfit was thrown together last minute but it turned out to be pretty cute and girly. I paired a pink blazer with black shorts and a leopard print top. I loved how it turned out. Spring is my favorite time of the year! I finally pulled out all my shorts so hopefully this Texas weather won't go crazy again to where we get another cold front because I will not be prepared. Happy Friday! :)

Sunny & 75

Joe Nichol's song "Sunny & 75" is the soundtrack to today's weather. It's finally starting to feel like Spring around here even though tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 40's again.. We just won't worry about that just yet. Today I am going to enjoy the sunshine & gorgeous weather while it lasts. I recently bought this top and necklace from Kohl's. I fell in love with this necklace the second I saw it! It just screamed SPRING to me. The pastel colors are really trending right now and since I don't have many in my closet I thought this necklace would be the perfect addition to my collection. The coral lace sleeved top is stunning in person and looked perfect with this pastel colored necklace. Matched with my new white skinnies and cognac wedges, this outfit is perfect for this gorgeous weather.

Army Green

If you follow me on Instagram (BRITTANYNICOLE1017) then you've seen these pants from my latest shopping spree to Old Navy. Let me tell you.. Old Navy seems to disappoint me! They also drain my bank account. lol Any who I decided to try a different style of pants that I've never tried before and believe it or not, I fell in love. These pants are extremely comfortable with their skinny jean fit. I styled this outfit pretty simple. A plain button down is an essential staple for every closet, yet sadly this was a very recent purchase from you guessed it... Old Navy! :) Listen.. If I could buy the whole store I would and quite frankly if you looked at my closet right now you would think that I had. lol I can't wait to style these pants throughout spring and maybe even summer! :)

Anchors Away

If you've been in an Old Navy or anywhere for that matter anchors are EVERYWHERE! I am loving this trend and until now I never had anything like it in my closet. Due to this crazy Texas weather I haven't been able to wear this adorable anchor skirt until now! This precious pencil anchor skirt is perfect for spring! It was sunny and in the 70's today so I decided it was finally time to wear it! I love everything about this outfit. I paired it this skirt with my "Hello Gorgeous" tee I bought on clearance and some red flats and it turned out to be the cutest Spring outfit ever! Well.. In my opinion at least. ;) This outfit has me daydreaming about hot summer days, white sandy beaches, and ocean waves.

It's all in the details.. Instagram shot! :)

Same Top, Different Day

My sweet grandma bought me this precious leopard print button down for Christmas and I absolutely love it! Leopard goes with anything! Black, brown, brights, lights, it doesn't matter because this top with go with any of them! I have wore this outfit twice but with two different pairs of shoes. I wore the boot outfit to work and the flats to run errands on a Saturday a few weekends ago. I love everything about this outfit but the different shoes make it two completely different outfits and I love that. I love how adding just one or two different items to an outfit can completely change the whole look of it. What outfit do you like best? I personally can't choose between them because they are both so cute! :)

Classy Spunk

I always try and post my outfits on my Instagram so everyone that follows me can see my outfit of the day. One of my sweet followers said that I looked "classy with a side of spunk!" hence the name of this post. I bought this button down recently at Old Navy because of how simple and classy it was. I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion which is what I love about it. I can easily pair it with a skirt for work or church and then pair it with a pair of jeans to run errands in. This is my version of "classy spunk". This statement matched perfectly with this outfit as well my little red flats. I took two sets of pictures, one with my over-size cardigan and one without. I like both to be honest with you. What do you think?
